Best nightlife in Thailand

1. BANGKOK – The best for luxury nightlife in Thailand and rooftop bars!

Khaosan road nightlife in Thailand

Bangkok is not only one of the best places in Thailand for nightlife, but it’s one of the best places in the world!

Being the capital city of Thailand, your nightlife options are endless! Whether you want to have a cheap beer or a cocktail at a luxury rooftop bar, Bangkok will have a party for you.

Khaosan Road

If you think of partying in Bangkok, your first destination must be Khaosan Road. This strip is the epicentre of all the parties in Bangkok and it’s well worth a visit.

Lining either side of the road, which is pedestrian-only after 10pm, are endless bars and clubs. As each club is blasting music, it’s a very weird feeling being hit by so many different noises. However, this is what makes the atmosphere on Khaosan Road so incredible and a great place to be. Nonetheless, just let the music guide you and you’ll end up having a great time no matter where.

It goes without saying Khaosan Road is open until the VERY early hours so you won’t be short of entertainment.

As you can imagine, we found Khaosan Road quite intense but it was a great atmosphere to experience. One of the most intriguing things we came across was the mobile stalls selling local delicacies. You had the choice of scorpions, cockroaches and a lot more. We definitely weren’t brave enough to try anything on offer, although now I wish we had!

If you do end up starting or finishing your trip to Thailand then you absolutely have to go to Khaosan Road to fully experience Bangkok!

Rooftop Bars

Cooling Tower Rooftop Bar

Located on top of the Carlton Hotel, this rooftop bar has crazy views of the concrete jungle that is Bangkok. The sunset view is highly recommended but do be wary of the particularly hot weather at this time. Despite seemingly being a fancy establishment, it does offer Happy Hour between 5pm-6:30pm where you can buy one, and get one free! To top it off, a cup of popcorn is served with every order! The Cooling Tower also offers a variety of food, from main meals to nibbles like olive bread. It’s easily accessible thanks to the nearby Skytrain and Metro stations.

Sky

Made famous due to its appearance in the Hangover movies, this rooftop bar is absolutely breathtaking. Situated on the 63rd floor top of the Lebua State Tower skyscraper, it feels as if you can see the whole of the city you’re that high up! Due to its notoriety, the prices of drinks are quite steep but we think it’s so worth it. We’d recommend that you dress to impress as the smart-casual dress code can be quite strict.

Party Hostels

Bodega Bangkok Soi 23

Bodega has hostels all over Thailand and they have a great reputation for being a party hostel. The staff put on fun games and nightly events to get people ready for a night out. This is a great way of meeting tons of like-minded people. But the hostel also has a nice chilled atmosphere which makes it enjoyable to sit and relax in.

Bed Station Hostel Khaosan

Located just a stone’s throw away from Khaosan Road, if you’re looking for a party hostel, here’s a must. As you can imagine, it’s right next to loads of bars that are all really affordable and have a great atmosphere. For some downtime, make sure to check out the rooftop pool which is so beautiful at night. Alternatively, this is a great place to work if you’re a digital nomad.

Mad Monkey

From our experience with Mad Monkey, this is the definition of a party hostel! Centrally located within a very short walking distance of Khaosan Road. We found it one of the best places to stay if you’re looking to socialise with other travellers. Mad Monkey put on events or games every night which can include hilarious bar crawls. It has its own pool and bar area and everyone ends up hanging which adds to the fun atmosphere.

2. KOH PHANGAN – For the full moon party!

Haadrin Beach Koh Phangan Thailand
Haadrin Beach

The Full Moon Party

Koh Phangan is the home of the famous Full Moon Party and somewhere that should be at the top of your nightlife in Thailand bucket list!

Located on Haad Rin beach, the Full Moon Party really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The beach has clubs scattered all along its front. This means there are tons of different types of music to boogie to and you can find the one you enjoy the most. At one end there’s also a huge flaming Bangkok sign which makes for a great photo!

Entrances will be set up where you’re required to purchase 200 baht ($6) to enter the beach. This will allow you to re-enter as many times as you like which is a godsend if you have an accommodation like Yogurt Home3 nearby. However, the best place to acquire alcohol at a reasonable price is a small shop near Walking Street. Here you can purchase a bottle of Sangsum for a really good price. This way you can avoid the extortionate prices you’ll otherwise be charged on the many pop-up beach stalls.

No matter whether you’re travelling alone or in a group, we’d highly recommend staying in a party hostel. That way you’ll be able to make loads of new friends and have a much better Full Moon Party. We personally found that on the whole, the more people in the group the better time we had.

Our biggest tips for surviving the full moon party? Drink lots of water and stay out of the sea!

Party Hostels in Koh Phangan

Bodega Beach Party

Bodega has everything you need in one place! Situated right on the beach, it has a pool, hammocks and beer pong so you won’t be short of amenities or things to do. You also have the ability to rent bikes here which is great for exploring the island. In addition, if you’re looking to party, Bodega has the perfect atmosphere for you!

Hideout Hostel

The people we’ve spoken to only had good things to say about staying at Hideout. It’s just a five-minute walk from Haad Rin beach which makes it perfectly suited for attending the Full Moon Party. The rooms are very clean and well-kept and offer loads of privacy. If you’re looking to meet others for a party, you won’t find any place better close to the beach!

NaTub Hostel

Our friends absolutely loved staying at NaTub. They said it was in a great location thanks to a 7/11 and the beautiful Night Market opposite. If you stay here during the Full Moon, the hostel will organise a taxi to and from the party at great rates. The beds are super comfy whilst the air-conditioned rooms are a lifesaver!

3. CHIANG MAI – The best nightlife in Northern Thailand

live music in thailand

Chiang Mai has such a different feel to it compared with all the other places we’ve visited. However, we absolutely loved the vibe here. The main party of the city itself is encompassed by a historical moat that provides a reminder of how old the city is.

Zoe in Yellow

We didn’t have any idea about this place before visiting but quickly heard it was absolutely the place to be. Situated in the west of the city, this open-air bar has loads of space to have a casual drink. If you do end up staying late, Zoe in Yellow does turn into a pretty banging club that we’d highly recommend. Whilst the dance floor area wasn’t the biggest, we felt the music was really good and played banger after banger.

For such a popular place, the drinks prices were really affordable and they understandably had quite the range on offer. However, if Zoe in Yellow isn’t your thing, there’s 48 Garage and Ken’s Bar opposite which are also great places to grab a drink or two.

ส้มตำปูม้าหน้าสนาม

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any English translation of this bar. Nonetheless, we stumbled across this bar and we were so glad we did. This place had a great atmosphere with fun music playing and really affordable beers and cocktails. Some of the staff spoke really good English and they were always super friendly. What made it even better was the pool situated in the middle which provided great entertainment!

Party Hostels in Chiang Mai

Slumber Party Hostel

This hostel is in a great location and has amazing facilities like the pool, bar and a fun atmosphere. However, our favourite is definitely the pingpong table and we played into the early hours on many occasions! Slumber Party is also very clean and it constantly has music playing which contributes to such a great vibe.

248 Street Hostel

Situated outside the city’s moat to the north, this hostel is well worth visiting for the rooftop bar alone. The best time to visit is in the evening but you have absolutely stunning views over the city. The rooftop even has a pool so make sure to pack your swimmers! Along the street are quite a few hostels and 248 is the place everyone goes to socialise.

Stamps Backpackers

We’ve stayed in tons of hostels and this really is in a league of its own. It’s clean throughout, has proper amenities, is safe and has a comfy common area to mingle in. Stamps offer a social atmosphere that isn’t replicated in the rest of Chiang Mai. If you’re in the mood to meet people, it’s super easy here. However, the hostel is normally quiet after 10pm which is a great time to recharge your social battery. There’s a reason this fills up so fast so book early!

4. PAI – For tipsy tubing!

Pai walking street at night

Why Not Bar Pai

Whenever we walked past this bar along Pai’s Walking Street, it was always jam-packed and we could never not go in. One of the best bits about Why Not is its pool table where you can spend countless hours playing for free if you keep buying drinks. This shouldn’t be a problem at all as all the drinks are incredibly affordable. If snooker isn’t your thing then feel free to occupy the multiple benches and chat away. There is also a huge screen that regularly plays live Premier League games so you don’t have to miss out despite being over the other side of the world.

Tipsy Tubing

Whilst not technically a nightlife activity, Tipsy Tubing in Pai is still a unique way of enjoying an ice-cold refreshment. This activity will have you flowing down the Pai river in nothing but a rubber ring and swimwear, trying not to get stuck in the various natural obstacles along the way. Tipsy Tubing ended up being our most memorable activity in the whole of Thailand and we couldn’t recommend it enough!

We’ve also created a Visitors Guide to Pai, outlining everything there is to do, see and eat so you know everything before you get there!

Tubing in Pai

Party Hostels in Pai

Tribal Pai Backpackers

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Pai and want to meet others, Tribal Pai Backpackers is the place. Even though it’s situated a little bit out of the centre of Pai, it’s still really accessible by scooter. We’ve heard nothing but good reviews from people staying at this place and they say it has a really welcoming atmosphere!

Pai Circus

This is another hostel that’s situated outside the town centre but then again, most are and everything is still accessible by scooter. Despite not staying in it ourselves, we know that the staff are super friendly and are always on hand to help out. The pool bar is understandably incredibly popular and people often come in to take free yoga sessions. It is however regularly described as a party hostel so make sure to book a stay if you want to meet some friends and have a laugh!

5. Phuket and Patong

Phucket best nightlife in Thailand

Bangla Road

This street is probably on another level from anything you’ve ever experienced. Even during the day, there’s a steady stream of people wandering down the street jumping in and out of stalls. However, after 8pm really is when the street comes alive. Once you find a seat, make sure to grab one with a great view of people walking past as it can be an enjoyable people-watching spot. The majority of the bars also have live music playing which makes for great entertainment and an amazing atmosphere!

However, our single bit of advice when drinking on Bangla Road is to never agree to get into a match of Connect 4 with any of the Thai girls. Having made this mistake, I quickly found out that they spend most of their time playing Connect 4 which makes them extremely good at it.

Despite being severely outnumbered when compared to bars, there are some huge clubs you must check out! We found Club 82 and Sugar Club Phuket to be the two most popular clubs and they didn’t disappoint. As you can imagine, the majority of venues on the street are open into the very early hours.

You should also be wary that many of the side streets are actually mini-red light districts. Thai girls and Ladyboys appear from nowhere and will physically try and pull you into their venue.

With such an internationally famous street, the prices of drinks are quite expensive for Thailand and comparable with some places in western Europe. Beers cost 250 baht ($7), cocktails were 400 baht ($11) and buckets were 200 baht ($5.5). Whilst this can make for an expensive night, you may only be in Bangla Road once so make sure to enjoy it.

bars and nightlife in Thailand

Pool Parties

Kudo Beach Club

Situated directly on Patong Beach and a stone throw away from Bangla Road, Kudo Beach Club is an extremely popular destination. One of the main reasons is the atmosphere where there’s constantly a DJ playing and everyone having a great time.

To top it all off, it’s combined with an Italian restaurant so you absolutely must spend an evening here, watch the sunset and eat some amazing cuisine. Do bear in mind there is a minimum spend which can vary. For example, the minimum spend for two people is 4,000 Baht.

Zippy Day Club

Located a bit further south of Patong on Karon beach, Zippy’s is a great place to lounge around the pool. It had nice big sunbeds which made it easier to relax. We also had the burrata pizza and were literally blown away it was that good. If you’re a pizza lover then this is a must! For such a good pool party venue, it is really well priced and the staff are obviously very friendly.

Party Hostels in Phuket

Bearpacker Hostel

Situated directly on Patong beach, you’re not going to get a better location in Phuket. The hostel has great facilities with clean, spacious dorms and comfy beds, all that you wish after a night out! The hostel is fully bear themed which makes it really unique. The rooftop common area, which includes a pool, is a great place to relax in the evenings or for some organised team fun!

Lub d Phuket

If you’re looking for the best party hostel in the whole of Phuket, look no further. Lub d put on social activities which include beer pong tournaments, 8-ball pool World Cup, pub crawls and pool parties. There is literally something every evening so you’ll always have something to do.

6. KOH SAMUI – For the best beach clubs in Thailand!

Fire show samui

Bars

Legends Bar

Every time we visited, this bar was rammed and it’s easy to tell why. The drinks are all really affordable no matter what you buy and with some many people and the music combined, it makes for a great atmosphere. There’s sitting in the front and back but it still spills out onto the streets. This also ended up being pretty much opposite our Lub d hostel which was the perfect location. If you’re looking to meet people, play pool or just enjoy a fun atmosphere, definitely check out Legends Bar.

*It is no longer called Legends Bar but this is what it’s referred to on Google Maps.

Cabaret Shows

Technically not a bar but still a great place to grab a drink and watch a fantastic show. There are three main cabaret shows on Koh Samui; Starz Cabaret, Cabaret Paris Follies and the Cabaret Show Lamai Beach. However, we found Starz Cabaret show the most enjoyable out of them all. The dancers, looked amazing. As you can imagine it was all bright colours and it looked like they absolutely loved performing! They ended up showcasing their talents to a range of contemporary artists such as Beyonce, Rihanna and Lady Gaga and it was great fun to watch!

Tickets cost 250 baht ($7) but it includes your first drink for free which can either be used on a cocktail or beer. You’re not obliged to purchase a second but if you do, the drinks are well-priced. Each show lasts 45 minutes and starts ay 8:30pm, 9:30pm and 10:30pm every night.

Fishermans Village

Fishermans village

Located on Koh Samui’s Northern shores, Fisherman’s Village is one of the top places to visit on the whole island. Bursting with life, this area has tons of shops, bars and restaurants to explore. This is a great place to try some local food from a stall or grab a souvenir or two. It also plays host to a Night Market which can be found along its long promenade.

Pub Quiz @ The Frog and Gecko Pub

We ended up stumbling across this place and we were so glad we did. We actually wanted a quick drink but soon got roped into a pub quiz that was good fun. The atmosphere was great and everyone was super friendly and the beer bar was also really affordable. Whilst we ended up coming joint last, it turns out this quiz is a weekly occurrence and the majority of tables with ex-pats who come each week. The quiz was conducted in English which was the only reason why we managed to even score some points.

Coco Tam’s Fire Show

Known for being one of the best fire shows in the whole of Thailand, Coco Tam’s is an absolute must-see! Situated near the Fisherman’s Village Night Market, this fire show is seriously impressive and very entertaining. As it’s such a popular event, loads of people attend which makes for a great atmosphere and good vibes. However, for this reason, we recommend you get to the venue at least an hour before the 7:30pm start time. This will allow you to secure your table on the beachfront and grab a couple of cocktails. The best bit is that the show is COMPLETELY FREE so there’s no reason not to visit.

Beach Parties

Ark Bar

Located on Chaweng beach on Samui’s west coast, Ark Bar beach party has it all. From fire dancers to fire breathers and insane DJ’s you’re going to want to experience this party! This occurs every Wednesday and Friday from 7pm until 2am and no ticket is required.

Party Hostels in Koh Samui

Lub d

This was one of our favourite hostels we stayed at in the whole of Thailand. This had a proper beach-club atmosphere and we enjoyed the fact it had a young crowd. The rooms were super clean and it felt like you had your own private section.

Samui Backpacker Hotel

Situated near both Samui airport and Bangrak Seatran Pier, Samui Backpacker is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore the island. It’s right next to both the Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) and Fisherman’s village which are popular tourist attractions. The beds and bathrooms were clean, towels were provided and all the rooms had aircon which is a must in Thailand!

7. KOH TAO – The best bar crawl in Thailand!

Koh Tao Thailand

We found Koh Tao to be the island we most enjoyed in Thailand and had some of the best nightlife in Thailand! One of the main reasons for enjoying Koh Tao though was having the ability to learn how to Scuba Dive. Despite having one of the most beautiful environments outside the Great Barrier Reef, Koh Tao is one of the cheapest places to achieve your open water qualification. Make sure to check out our guide on Scuba Diving in Koh Tao for more information!

Beach Bars

By far the best beach bar in the whole of Koh Tao was Fishbowl. It seemed that every night everyone from across the island would congregate here and it ended up being a massive party! Pretty much every other night they’d have a live band playing music and surprisingly the drinks were always really affordable. Koh Tao also had some of the best restaurants in Thailand in our opinion, most of which were all on the beach!

However, what differentiated Fishbowl was its beach set-up. Here it has three beer pong tables set up where you could play for free and dozens of beanbags to relax and chat the night away.

Koh Tao Pub Crawl

One of the most popular activities to do in Koh Tao is its famous bar crawl. Starting at Choppers Bar in Sairee, you’ll all go to the four best party bars for that night and have a great time. Make sure to get your 480 baht tickets in early as only 150 are sold each night and they normally get booked out. This includes free shots at every bar you visit as well as a complimentary bucket in Choppers. Also included is a free t-shirt which is a great bit of memorabilia!

Party Hostels in Koh Tao

Summer Hostel

If it’s your first time in Koh Tao, you absolutely have to stay here. People will gather in the communal area and eat together as theirs loads of takeaway options nearby. Everyone will then tend to stay around a pre-drink before going to the pubs and clubs at 11pm.

The facilities themselves are really well kept and always really clean. You can either choose from a dorm or a private room and both have access to really good wifi. There’s also a 24/7 supermarket just across the street which makes eating and breakfast super easy. The hostel will staff are super helpful and can teach you how to ride a scooter and rent one for just 100 baht per day.

Savage Hostel

This upscale hostel has comfortable large beds with privacy screens and is perfectly located just off Sairee beach. Fishbowl and other really popular pubs and clubs are a short distance away which makes it perfect to get home at whatever time. The swimming pool area is a hit with guests and has a really chilled-out vibe.

8. KOH PHI PHI – for the pool parties!

Phi phi in Thailand

In a close second in the Thai Island rankings was Koh Phi Phi. Located in the Andaman Sea, the Phi Phi islands were another beautiful holiday where we spent the majority of our time relaxing on the beach or in one of the many amazing eateries it had to offer.

Beach Parties

If you’re looking to party in Phi Phi, there is no better place to go than Loh Dalum beach. You’ll quickly realise Phi Phi is split into the nice, formal hotel side and the hostel, party beachside. Here you’ll find various beach bars, all offering great music and a range of shows including fire-dancing.

Slinky, Freedom and Moonlight beach bar were the ones that we particularly enjoyed. Again, tons of people will end up on the beach in the evening and it’s a great place to boogie and party into the early hours.

Pool Party

Literally, the only place on Phi Phi for a pool party is Ibiza Pool Party. This is another hostel situated on Loh Dalum beach which makes it the perfect location if you’re looking to party! Self-proclaimed as the biggest pool party in Thailand, this event is so popular people plan their stays in Thailand around attending.

The party happens every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday between 1pm-9pm and is completely free! No matter where you’re staying, make sure to experience this epic party and have fun drinking wherever you choose.

Party Hostels in Phi Phi

Stones Bar Dorm Rooms And Restaurant

The selling point for this hostel is the fact it’s right on the beach and you feel like you’re in your own villa, with a bunch of friends! It’s also notorious for being a BIG party hostel as the music goes loud and late. With its very own fire show at 9pm, people come from all across the island to make such a good atmosphere.

Hangover Hostel

Located a bit further down Loh Dalum beach than Stones Bar, Hangover Hostel is a great place if you’re wanting to make friends. The hostel is far enough away from the bars that you can’t hear them but still within easy walking distance. Close to all the bars etc but far enough away that you can’t hear music at night.

9. RAILAY AND OA NANG – For some relaxed nightlife in Thailand

Railay sunset at night in Thailand

Live Music Bars

You’ll quickly realise that Railay isn’t the biggest of places but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a variety of live music bars to visit. Along both its east and west sides, there are loads of places where you can sit and chat with your friends with live music in the background.

Railay has a more laidback nightlife scene, as does most of Krabi. This is a completely different vibe from somewhere like Phuket which is famous for its vibrant party scene. If you are stuck deciding between the two, check out this Krabi vs Phucket guide!

Happy Shakes

There are a couple of happy shake shacks located in Railay and they’re very popular amongst both locals and tourists. They’re affordable and give you a different experience if that’s what you’re into.

Party Hostels in Railay

Blanco Hideout Hostel

This is without a shadow of a doubt the best place to stay in Railay. Whilst it is far from Railay beach itself, it’s a great party hostel with amazing facilities including a pool that looks over the bay. The hostel organises different events every night so it’s a great way to meet other people and have a boogie. The staff are also so welcoming and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Tips for enjoying the nightlife in Thailand

Pre drink

Even though the price of beer in the whole of Thailand is very affordable, pre-drinking is another way of enjoying yourself that much more.

Whilst you can save a little money by pre-drinking, one of the main benefits is it’ll allow you to socialise more than you would in a club. You’ll also get a chance to meet loads of new people, especially if you happen to be pre-drinking in a hostel.

Local beers and spirits

One of the most famous parts of Thailand nightlife are its affordable beers! In a lot of places, you’ll be able to get a range of beer for less than 70 baht ($2). The three most popular beers in Thailand are Singha, Chang and Leo and you can find them pretty much anywhere.

The main local Thai spirit that we loved was Sangsom Rum. This was something else you will end up finding a lot around Thailand. Whilst we did end up having too much of the stuff, it was widely accessible, affordable and tasted all too good! If we weren’t in a bar drinking beers or cocktails, our main drink of choice would be Sangsom. It came in a 70cl bottle which made it easy to carry around and hide if need be. We ended up surviving on this during the Full Moon Party and it was just so nice! Highly recommend.

Happy Hours

One of the best things about partying in Thailand is that you’re pretty much guaranteed to find that every single bar does some version on every single day of the week. Whether this is a 2-4-1 cocktail offer or three beers for 100 baht, no matter where you go there will be some sort of deal you can take advantage of.

In some cases, you can even use the happy hour at one bar before getting happy hour at the next. We’d recommend planning your night so you make use of all the offers available. This is perfect if you’re travelling on a budget!

Plan your route around the full-moon party

One of the best tips we can ever give is to plan your whole trip to Thailand around the full moon party, it’s that good! As the full moon party only happens once a month, you will only really get one chance to be able to visit.

For our trip, we knew we were going to spend two months in Thailand anyway so had time to visit Northern Thailand before coming back down South. Ko Phangan ended up being one of the last places we visited because of when the full moon party fell.

If you’ve only got one month in Thailand, we’d recommend either visiting Koh Phangan, and the two other islands nearby, either at the start or end of your trip. This is because Bangkok, Thailand’s main entry and exit point, is easily accessible.

Book your full moon party accommodation in advance

In a similar vein as above, booking your full moon party accommodation as far in advance as possible will save you a lot of money. Because it’s such a big event, prices will be high anyway but the closer you leave it to the event, the less choice you have and it’ll be even more expensive.

We booked Yogurt Home for the full moon party and we ended up finding a gem. It is literally just a 30-second walk from Haad Rin beach making it the perfect accommodation. This will make your trip back that much, easier, quicker and enjoyable.

Hostels are a great place to make friends

We experienced this throughout of trip to Thailand and would highly advise anyone travelling to stay in hostels as much as you can stomach. No matter whether you’re travelling on your own, as a couple or in a group, it’s always great fun to meet new people. You never know, you might even get additions to your travelling party and make lifelong friends! Whilst everyone is different and your mood at the time can impact this but we’ve learnt to always start speaking to people as you never know who you might get on with.

Phuket thailand

Be safe

Whatever you do, always make sure you’re safe. You can only have fun if you’re in a position to do so. Always make sure to keep an eye on your drink and know who and where it’s being bought from. If it makes you feel more comfortable, always buy bottled drinks or keep your drink in a small bottle.

FAQs for Nightlife in Thailand

When is the full moon party in Thailand?

The date of the full moon party differs every year and, obviously, coincides with the full moon. Whilst it normally is once a month, sometimes it can be twice in a single month. We’d recommend always checking the update schedule which you can find here!

Where is the best place for nightlife in Thailand?

If you’re looking for tons of bars and clubs all in one place then the center of Bangkok is the place for you. Whilst it is a concrete jungle, you do get the luxury of rooftop bars which is another great way of partying in Thailand.

Where is the full moon party in Thailand?

The famous full moon party in Thailand is located on Koh Phangan and Haad Rin Beach in particular. Some people stay on the other side of Koh Phangan, Thongsala, as there are more things to do here.

How expensive is the nightlife in Thailand?

This depends entirely on where and what you drink and how much you like to party. Whilst prices are obviously far lower than in western countries, some prices will still surprise you.

However, in the majority of bars and clubs, beer is very affordable not matter where you and there’s always a variety depending on what you prefer. Cocktails and spirits on the other hand will be slightly more expensive but again, noway near as much as you’re used to be paying. Beers will average between $2-$4 whilst cocktails/spirits will be no cheaper than $5.

Where are the best party hostels in Thailand?

From all the places we’ve visited and the places we’ve had recommended to us, there’s pretty much one main party hostel in every location.

For example, Bodega Beach Party (Koh Phagnan), Bodega Party Hostel (Bangkok), Tribal Pai Backpackers (Pai) and Blanco Hideout (Railay) were all great places to stay and party.

However, our favorite place out of them all was Lub d Chaweng Beach (Koh Samui). The hostel was situated on the beach front with its own infinity pool and bar and regularly held events which brough it tons of people. We just found it to be a great atmosphere and the added bonus of walking 30 seconds to our room which was always kept very clean by the staff.

Is it safe to drink buckets in Thailand?

On the whole, yes.

This is on the basis you know where your drink has come from, who has bought it for you and you know whats in it. It goes without saying that having a bucket does increase the risk of getting spiked because its easier to get the substance into your drink.

That being said, just make sure you’re being sensible and you only take buckets off people you know then you’ll be fine. Whilst it doesn’t always happen, it is more likely to take place at big events like the Full Moon Party so just be aware.

Can you have ice in Thailand?

Yes you can!

You might find a lot of people tell you that you need to avoid like the plague when travelling Thailand but in reality, in most places, its perfectly safe!

While you shouldnt drink the tap water in Thailand, 99% of bars will buy huge bags of ice to sell with their drinks which is safe to drink!

If you’re worried about contamination, check for the factory-produced ice cubes which are circular and have a hole through the middle. These are guaranteed to have been made with filtered water and are safe to consume.
