3 Days in Seville: The Perfect First-Time Itinerary (Map + Tips)

If you’re planning 3 days in Seville, you’re in for one of the most beautiful and atmospheric cities in Spain.

We actually spent 4 days in Seville during our backpacking trip through Spain, and it quickly became one of those places that just sticks with you: the orange trees, the tiled buildings, the endless tapas bars, and the slow, sunny pace of life.

But if you’re short on time, don’t worry. In this guide, I’ll break down exactly how I’d structure the perfect Seville 3 day itinerary, based on what we did and what I think is most worth seeing if it’s your first time in the city.

Map of Your Seville Itinerary

How Many Days in Seville Do You Need?

One of the most common questions is how many days in Seville are enough?

Honestly, 3 days in Seville is perfect for first-time visitors!

It gives you enough time to see the main landmarks, explore the different neighbourhoods, enjoy tapas, flamenco, and parks and to take things at a relaxed Spanish pace.

You could do it in 2 days, but it would feel rushed. With 3 full days, everything feels much more enjoyable.

Day 1: Historic Centre & First Impressions

Morning: Seville Cathedral & Giralda Tower

seville cathedral

Start your first day in Seville at the iconic heart of the city.

The Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, and it’s genuinely one of those places that makes you stop and go “wow”.

Inside, it’s huge and impressive, but the real highlight is climbing the Giralda Tower for panoramic views over the city.

Late Morning: Royal Alcázar of Seville

Next up is the beautiful Royal Alcázar of Seville.

We didn’t actually get a chance to visit the inside of the Royal Alcazar as the queues were massive and we were pretty sure the tickets had sold out for the day.

So if you are visiting during the busy season, remember, this is a must-book attraction, and tickets sell out quickly.

Afternoon: Barrio Santa Cruz

After lunch, wander through Barrio Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter.

This is exactly what you imagine when you think of Seville, complete with narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, hidden squares and orange trees everywhere!

It’s one of the most beautiful areas in the city and by far our favourite!

Evening: Tapas & Flamenco

Your first night in Seville should be all about tapas, too much sangria and flamenco dancing!

We went to a flamenco show during our trip, and it was such an intense, emotional experience; it really captures the soul of Andalusia. There are heaps of shows to choose from, so you may want to do a bit of research and book online before your trip.

Day 2: Parks, Palaces & Local Life

Morning: Plaza de España & Maria Luisa Park

Start your day at one of the most stunning places in the whole of Spain, one for everyone’s Spanish bucket list!

Plaza de España is huge, curved, and incredibly detailed. You’ll recognise it instantly from photos.

Right next to it is Parque de María Luisa, which is perfect for a slow morning walk.

We spent time just wandering here; it’s peaceful, shaded, and full of fountains and orange trees. It’s also a great picnic spot if you are traveling europe on a budget and looking for ways to save money.

Afternoon: Triana Neighbourhood

Cross the river into Triana, one of the most local-feeling areas in Seville.

This is where you’ll find:

  • Traditional ceramics
  • Large mercados
  • Local tapas bars
  • Less touristy streets

It feels like a completely different side of the city.

Evening: Tapas Food Tour

Seville is famous for its tapas, and if you are only spending three days in Seville, one of the best ways to experience some of the city’s culinary delights would be to book a tapas tour!

Here you can try some local cuisine and also get talked through the dishes by a local. We love booking tours as we find we can get some local recommendations and find some real hidden gems.

Day 3: Views, Culture & Relaxed Exploring

Morning: Metropol Parasol

Start your final day at Metropol Parasol (Las Setas).

It’s modern and very different from the rest of Seville, but the viewpoints at the top give you great views over the whole city.

We spent a long time walking around this place, and the best part is, included with your ticket price, is entry to Las Setas after sunset, so you can see the city lit up at night.

Afternoon: Relax in a Café

By day three, we were honestly happy just slowing down.

Grab a coffee, sit in a square, and just watch local life go by. Or if you are anything like Alex and can’t sit still, grab a coffee to go and wander around the streets.

This is when Seville really shines: the slow pace, the sunshine, and the atmosphere.

Evening: Final Sunset

End your Seville itinerary 3 days by watching the sun go down in a rooftop bar, we visited a few during our trip but Castella Art was definitely our favourite.

Once the sunsets, don’t forget to head back to Las Setas to see its lights in the dark, it really was a highlight of our whole trip!

Travel Tips for Seville

  • Book Alcázar tickets early
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Expect hot weather in summer
  • Take time to slow down

Seville is best enjoyed at a relaxed pace, it’s not a city to rush.
