Madrid was one of those places that really surprised us, in the best way. We expected a busy capital, but it actually felt relaxed, local, and easy to explore at your own pace.

Some of our favourite moments were much simpler: wandering through a neighbourhood, sitting in a sunny plaza, or ending the night in small bars and restaurants.

Our biggest tip is not to rush. Give yourself enough time to enjoy the atmosphere and not just tick off a list of sights. Whether you’re visiting for a few days, travelling on a budget, or exploring more of Europe, Madrid is a place that’s easy to fall into.
